My name is Karl Herrmann, and I am Miss LingLing’s first high school Chinese student. My journey began humbly on DuoLingo, but it did not take me long to realise this app wasn’t going to cut it. The first time we met, she was honest and clear about the dedication and effort I would need in order to find success in this subject, but her encouragement and warm character made every step so far feel like a breeze. Six months later, that first impression still holds true. Miss LingLing has a gift for transforming complex ideas into simple and digestible steps. She makes learning the hardest characters, words, or phrases achievable and even enjoyable to learn. Her way of teaching is gentle but effective and has consistently pushed me hard enough to continue to grow but never feel overwhelmed. For me, it’s her passion, patience and her kindness that make her a great teacher. If you’re looking for someone who can make impossible workloads seem easy, or can turn your confusion into clarity, then Miss LingLing is definitely the teacher you need.

Both our boys really enjoy going to rainbow Kindy, where the eldest has been for the last three years and the youngest for just over one year.  All the staff a great in caring for them, they engage in meaningful activities and share with parents the curriculum that they are following and lots of updates through the days on the activities undertaken. It’s a great fun environment for them which is very supportive of their development.  The optional inclusion of Mandarin lessons for the boys gives a great point of difference for the center.
